Pittsburgh, PA (Vocus) October 7, 2010 The Donor Motivation Program is releasing a new special report to aid nonprofits during this challenging time. The report, titled “The Future of Planned Giving – The Top 10 Challenges Every Nonprofit Faces,” is available now at DonorMotivation.com. The report addresses the top ten challenges and ten strategic results for every planned giving program.

“Many charities have been hit with the triple whammy: Giving is down; income from endowments is down; and the need for services is up.” Scott Keffer said, the Creator of the Donor Motivation Program™ and Founder of The Donor Motivation Advisors of North America. “Healthy nonprofits are critical to the U.S. economy and its recovery, and a sustainable planned giving program is an essential component of that health. With resources stretched to the limit, decreasing the cost per donor contact through an effective planned giving seminar and communication system is essential.”

According to the latest Giving USA 2010, charitable giving from all sources in the U.S. was down 3.7%, adjusting for inflation. Giving from individuals, which makes up 75% of all giving, is below what it was in 2004. Giving from bequests, which makes up 8% of all giving, is down 23.6%. U.S. charities employ 12.9 million or approximately 10% of the U.S. workforce and produce 5% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), according to the Non Profit Sector.

About The Donor Motivation Program Since 1995, The Donor Motivation Program has used feedback from nonprofits and their donors to build and perfect a proactive planned giving system that is the bridge between organizations and their donors. Through the Donor Motivation Program™ and The Donor Motivation Professionals of North America, a network of trained professionals, they have helped North American charities, large and small, “motivate planned giving!”
